An emergency alert has ended in Nova Scotia as police continue searching for a possibly armed man.

In a thread of posts on X Friday night, RCMP said an emergency alert had been issued for Colchester County, Millbrook, Stewiacke, Indian Brook, and East Hants for a man officers believed may be armed.

The man was reportedly last seen running from the scene of a car crash on Highway 215, near exit 10.

Early Saturday morning, RCMP announced there was no threat to public safety and the emergency alert had been cancelled.

The suspect is around six feet tall, 220 pounds, with black hair, tattoos and a gold chain.

Anyone who may see the suspect is asked not to approach them and to call 911.
