HALIFAX - Police in Halifax say a man is facing a murder charge in the death of Chauntel Lizette MacIntyre, who was stabbed in the Halifax area last year.

Halifax Regional Police issued a statement saying a 31-year-old woman was arrested at a Halifax residence last Thursday and released later in the day without charges.

Police say 40-year-old Kenneth Wayne Clarke was arrested later that night as he was driving a vehicle in Halifax.

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face one count of first-degree murder.

MacIntyre was stabbed in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road in the early morning hours of May 17, 2022.

The 37-year-old woman died later in hospital, and the Nova Scotia medical examiner determined she was the victim of a homicide.
