Charges laid against youths after 13-year-old boy found dead at Edmtonon LRT station

EDMONTON - Edmonton police say a trio of youths have been charged after a teenage boy was found dead at a downtown LRT station.

Police say officers found the teen dead after responding to a report Wednesday night of people fighting at the MacEwan LRT station.

Police now say an autopsy has founded the victim, a 13-year-old boy, was stabbed and his death has been deemed a homicide.

Investigators say the boy was part of a group of youths that reportedly assaulted a man and woman in their 30s at the station.

Police say the youths nor the man and woman knew each other.

An 18-year-old man, as well as a 15-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, are facing assault and weapons charges.
